Default will there be a new version? with e.g. chat history?

hi *,

i just wanted to know if anyone is knowing if windows messenger (NOT MSN or
LIVE Messenger) is being actively developed further?
i am e.g. missing history and some other features that have already been
implemented in MSN/LIVE messenger.

Windows Messenger will not be developed further, as that team has been
disbanded (for quite some time now).

Windows Messenger won't even be integrated/included with Vista.

You can use Messenger Plus (http://old.msgplus.net) and use it do add this functionality to
Windows Messenger.

will there be a substitute for SIP communication in companies?
or is live messenger able to speak SIP?

Live Messenger does not use SIP -- the SIP support has gone into Office Communicator.
