Reinstall Windows XP Messenger
Hi all
I removed Windows XP Messenger using the rundll32..... command. However, I can no longer provide remote assistance to a friends PC now, even though we're both using Windows Live Messenger (latest version). Does WLM rely on Windows Messenger components in order for remote assistance to work? If so, how can I reinstall Windows XP Messenger? I've looked in the msmsgs.inf file but can't find anything obvious. Thanks in advance! |

Reinstall Windows XP Messenger
Greetings,
Yes it does, Windows Messenger must be installed for these features to work. You can simply just reinstall Windows Messenger from he http://microsoft.com/downloads/detai...f-9157a3b3d774 -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2007 Jonathan Kay. Sure thing. Additionally, you don't actually need to use Windows Messenger, it just has to
be there. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2007 Jonathan Kay.
