Default burning a dvd

when i go to burn a dvd and put a blank disk in i get a message saying the
dvd is not a blank disc even though it is brand new why is this happening

Just a thought...do you actually have a
DVD-RW burner or a DVD-ROM that
only *reads* DVDs?

Many computers come with a combo
drive installed that will burn CDs but only
read DVDs.

Default burning a dvd

I have a dcd burner I have burnt and copied dvd and put my movies onto dvd
but now it tells me the new disc is not a blank one

Ok...maybe the following articles will offer some ideas;

(826510) You cannot write to a DVD-RAM disc
that is in a DVD-RAM/CD-RW combination drive

error message when you try to use the Create
CD/DVD experience to write to a DVD
