This really ticks me off because it happens so often. What is found online
doesn't apply to what is on my computer. I have a lot of photos taken by
the kids with the horizon off level. I Googled how to use Photos in W-10
to level the images. But the info online is nothing like the version of
Photos on my W-10. They're not even similar.

The Photos version on my W-10 has none of these choices when Edit it clicked
on. Does anyone know how to use this app to level the horizon/straighten
images using W Photos? Or how to get those choices up somehow? If not, of
any free software online that do this?

What if you right click the image then select "Edit with Photos" instead
of double clicking to view it with Photos?

That worked! Thanks so much. I knew someone here would know. :^)

Windows 10 wasn't released until 2015. The article to which you linked
is dated way back to 2011. It does not say for which versions of
Windows it applies, but obviously it is not for the 10 version.

uBlock Origin blocks so many sources for that page that I cannot see
what it might've said, nor am I going to waste time unblocking content
in uBO to find out.

In Windows 10 Home x64 build 1809, I opened a .jpg and then clicked on
the "Edit & Create" link to show that menu, and saw:

When I clicked on Edit in that menu, I saw:

There is no "leveling" function. Don't what you meant to name the
function. Maybe what you intended to do was to crop the image. I don't
remember any Photo app in prior versions of Windows giving you a
leveling function. In fact, they had far less features than the Windows
10 Photos app (except you could zoom in on a pic but still move the
prior or next pic without having to zoom all the way out to get those
nav controls).

I would think if you wanted robust (but not ridiculous editing, like
with Gimp) that you would do what Windows users have been doing for a
very long time: find a 3rd party tool that gives you more but doesn't
not far exceed you ability to understand and use the product. Both
XnView and Irfanview have some editing features (XnView has a more
modern UI) and Paint.NET still works on Windows 10, and all are free.

I haven't bothered looking at the Paint3D that comes in Windows 10. I
just opened a JPG in Paint3D and notice it also has a crop function. As
for "leveling", you'll have to explain in more detail what you are
trying to change in the image. Seems if you are trying to bring the
horizon down to the bottom of the pic that you are cropping the bottom
of the pic.

Have the kids turn on the Grid lines and learn to use them.
