Does the boxed retail version of Windows XP include Service Pack 1a.

I've
tried to find SP1a online but no online retailer will say which

version
they
are selling. Is there a difference in UK product code numbers.

(I have no intention of spending hours downloading 30 to 134 MB from
Microsoft's website every I need to reinstall the OS on a clean HDD

and
there is no indication of them providing a free upgrade CD. )

On a Greek NG, consider how much of Greece does not have any form of
high speed internet.

In most areas people who need high speed connections are still relying
on satelite based systems.

Underdeveloped nations should focus more on their core competances like
goatherding, and leave usenet trolling to us wealthy fat westerners

Sorry mate, I was laughing so much when I wrote that I could not finish my
last sentence. It should have read:

A further two minutes is wasted by the time he types in the URL with his old
and shaky hands. That is after of course he has managed to do his *Free
Willy* action *when he tried to refresh his aging senile memory by sticking
it in the USB port.* ;-)

So, now it's finished....hehehehehehe

Buy win xp, download sp1a once, and then follow the directions at http://www.theeldergeek.com/slipstream_01.htm in order to create a bootable copy of xp that includes the service pack.
