You asked Bruce Hagen why. Living in California he most likely does not know
this:

Hi

I've tried posting in the NG's but they don't appear although
they have been sent and I get no errors.
I've tried a test group also. I can see the other posts in NG's

Could somebody send a new post entitled "Posts not showing up"
and start a new thread for me to read and hopefully sort out my
dilema? TIA

Shows up just fine here. What are you using for a newsgroup
client?

I'm using Microsoft Outlook Express v6, and I've just noticed
that I can see my posts on this server "msnnews.microsoft.com"
but not if I post on "news.tiscali.co.uk"?

Don't use "news.tiscali.co.uk".

Thanks Bruce

I added (aloe.org) (news.edisontel.com) and (text.news.cambrium.nl) but no
posting was allowed
even though (aloe.org) said you could!

How come there are visible posts on them servers if no posting is allowed! I
don't get it.

vijusha,
Tiscali news and email servers, are known to have chronic outages and problems.
It might be time to get a different Newsgroup service.

There are few "free" ones out there. And most of them usually do not carry
"alt.binaries.***" newsgroups. If you desire the binary newsgroups, you might
need to subscribe to a pay service, like GIGANews.

For a free non binary news service, consider www.motzarella.org . They may not
carry all the newsgroups that you are interested in. You will need to register
with them with a valid email address, so that you can see all the newsgroups
that they offer, and have the ability to post to those newsgroups. Which is why
they can offer their service for free at this time. Which then require you to
subscribe to a
pay service.

For Microsoft specic news groups, add news://msnews.microsoft.com to you news
reader application/client.

Oh, that's brilliant; and typical of your responses, in fact. You need
