windows 10 pro activation problem
I have a win 10 vm which will not let me activate windows. When I go to
settings update & security activation and click change product key, nothing happens. How can I change the product key so I can activate this install of windows 10? -- A nation of sheep will beget a government of wolves - Edward R. Murrow |

How can I change the product key so I can activate this install of windows 10? Did you look at the manual page for "slmgr" ? It has tools for checking license state, changing key and so on. slmgr -dlv The various options use three letters like in that example. (The example displays the current state of licensing.) If you froze your OS at 10240, perhaps it is "damaged" enough to be unusable in its current state. Use the winver command to review your current OS version and patch level. 10240 10586 14393 15000+ (Insider) The patch level comes after the decimal point. In this example, a patch at 678 level had been applied to the original 10586 installed DVD. 10586.678 Paul |
