Perhaps this is what you're looking for: Open the Help and Support Center
and search for the article entitled 'Connecting using your modem'.

To create a Phone Dialer desktop shortcut:

1. Right-click on your Desktop and select: New Shortcut.
2. Type: "C:\Program Files\Windows NT\dialer.exe" , then click Next.
3. Name the shortcut "Phone Dialer" and click Finish.

Hi, Shirley.

Do you have a dial-up modem? Since I switched to ADSL and retired my
dial-up modem, my computer has no way to dial at all. It's like trying to
dial without using a telephone. :( DSL uses the phone line, but it's
"always on", so there's never any need to dial my ISP.

To All,
I have just solved the phone dial-up problem when you change to
Broadband and / or Voip. Leave your old dial - up modem connected to the
computer and plug your phone line into it and either to the phone socket or
to the Broadband Modem.
The dial-up modem acts as the phone dialer !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
To register the modem , go to Control Panel / Phone & Modem and set the
modem up for your locality.
I use Lotus taskbar on the top of my screen with it's phone book and works
perfectly. When older versions of Works had phone dialing capabilities I used
that extensivly too.

I am currently running XP pro and tried to locate the dialer program as
stated below but found nothing in the "Windows NT" folder. Any suggestions?

Do a search from drive c for Dialer.
Mine is in C:\WindowsNT
You need to check out Phone and Modem options in the Control Panel.
Regards Mike.
