Default Shadow artifacts from Windows menus and windows

Considering the rest of your system spec writeup was so thorough... you neglected to mention which
Nvidia driver versions you've tried :-) How about the newly released 43.45?

Is this a known issue? Once in a while I will get these menu/window
shadows that are left behind. I can't get rid of them unless I reboot
my computer. I have a screen capture of an artifact/left over:
http://apu.edu/~philpi/temp/ShadowArtifacts.gif (my wallpaper desktop; I
will delete this image after I get a fix).

If I leave shadows off, then I never run into artiacts. I have had
this problem for months with various video drivers. Is there a fix
for this? My system configuration (Primary Computer (Multimedia,
Gaming, & Workstation Box)) is at
http://alpha.zimage.com/~ant/antfarm.../computers.txt

Thank you in advance.
