Default Question about Messenger 4.7XP versus 5.0XP.

Jonathan Kay I need your expertise. I appreciate the help you've given me
in the past.
How come I can get 4.7 to work, but not 5.0? I have cable internet and
I downloaded 5.0 and every time I access it, it comes up with an error and
asks me if I want to send Microsoft an error report. I downloaded the
update to DirectX (9 that is) and I still can't get on 5.0. My 4.7 version
works fine though. I have a Gateway 700X with Windows XP Pro on it. Later
I'd like to download and install Microsoft's WebCam software ( the program
that's associated with Logitech), but MS says on the download site that you
need 5.0 for it to work. I tried to download and install WebCam any way and
when it got 3/4ths the way through it came up with an error and asks me if I
want to send a report to MS.
I would appreciate your suggestions and help.
Thanks

Greetings Ace,

In the error message ("we are
sorry for the inconvenience..."), click the "click here" link -- in the next screen, you'll
see something like the following:
szAppName : msnmsgr.exe szAppVer : 5.1.2600.0 szModName : rpcrt4.dll

If you could reply back with what the szModName has in your error, would make it easier to
determine what the problem is.
