Default Windows Messenger Won't load up on Window startup

Hi Rob,

As a workaround, you can just add Messenger to your Startup group. To do so, click the Start
Menu, point to All Programs, right-click and Startup group and choose Open. Then choose the
File menu, then New, and then Shortcut.

In the location field, enter:
"%programfiles%\messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background
(exactly as shown above) then click Next, and then Finish.

Your reinstall of Messenger should've corrected any problem with automatically logging in
however.

Hello Jonathan, I did what you said and uninstalled
messenger and then reinstalled it, but I still have the
same problem.

Greetings Rob,

A full reinstall of Windows Messenger will probably solve

both problems. To do so, close
down Messenger (right click the messenger icon in the

notification area/system tray and click
close). Then click the start button, then click Run and

type in (copy-paste if you like):
RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%

\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove
Then click OK. Messenger will then be uninstalled. For

more detailed instructions and
screenshots, go to,

Reboot, click "Yes" to remove your preferences, then
