Default MSN Messenger 5.0 vs 56k access

I am using Msn Messenger 5.0 on XP pro and DSL line
through a Netgear FR314 firewall with uPnP activated for
Messenger in Stealth mode. I am able to communicate,
video/sound, with other users e/w DSL line, various OS
and MSN Messenger 5.0. I am not able to connect (times
out after a few seconds) with a user e/w win98se (did not
tried other OS), no firewall, and 56k line using version
5.0 also. Yet with Netmeeting it works fine
(video/sound/share/whiteboard/file transfer). Also I
could never get the Whiteboard and Sharing feature to
work in MSN Messenger with anyone. Yet the Sharing works
fine when using "Request for help" between XP to XP.

MSN Messenger, when connected, shows that "You are
currently connected to .NET Messenger Service using a
direct connection (no firewall)", which prove that uPnP
works fine.

Any help or guidance will be much appreciated.

Hubert
