Default Windows messenger icon

How do I permanently remove the Windows Messenger icon
that appears at the lower right corner of my screen next
to the clock? It appeared first when I went to and
stsarted to use MSN Messenger.

I run Windows XP Professional.

Open Windows Messenger, click on Tools, then Options and click the
Preferences tab. Now just uncheck the 'Run this program when Windows
starts' checkbox and click OK. It will disappear when you reboot or exit
Messenger. That should solve your problem, however Messenger won't be
running either.
