Default Moviemaker - WMV files to MPEG

I have created a a clip using Moviemaker2. When I emailed
it to some friends to view, they have come back saying
they could not view it. One friend said it loaded but no
audio or video came out. I have a newer computer than
everyone else, and I am the only one with Windows XP -
Could this be the problem? Is there any way I can save
the clips as a Mpeg instead of a WMV file, as I am
wondering whethere this is the problem.

Any help I could get in this matter would be appreciated.

Thanks

Garyth

To my knowledge, MovieMaker 2.0 will only save as .wmv or avi format. You
could use the free Microsoft encoder software (download from
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...r/default.aspx )
to convert your file (not sure if you can go from wmv to mpeg) but the best
solution is to ask your friend to load the latest media player onto his
system which should be ok so long as he doesn't have Windows NT or a Mac.
The latest media player is a free download at
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/win...a/players.aspx
