can a infrared port on a laptop communicate with bluetooth on another laptop?

Erm, no. Bluetooth to Bluetooth, yes, Infrared to Infrared yes, but one to
the other.... not as far as I am aware. Erm, no. Bluetooth to Bluetooth, yes, Infrared to Infrared yes, but one to
the other.... not as far as I am aware. No, a crossover cable goes into the Ethernet port.
