Reinstalling Multimedia audio controller
I can't reinstall this. I tried restoring my system to an earlier date &
rebooting my system. when I reboot, i get a message "new hardware found"! so I click to reinstall automatically, but it can't find the drivers and I don't have a CD. What can I do to get my sound back? |

Obtain the drivers from your mobo site, if a desktop, or PC makers site if a
large OEM, eg Dell/HP or a Laptop "gerrib1950" wrote in message ... I can't reinstall this. What can I do to get my sound back? Have you tried pointing the "found new hardware" to the Windows/inf folder? This will not work. The OP needs to install his sound card drivers. To gerrib1950: Get the sound card drivers from: 1. The device mftr.'s website; OR 2. The motherboard mftr.'s website if hardware is onboard; OR 3. The OEM's website for your specific machine if you have an OEM computer (HP, Dell, Sony, etc.). Read the installation instructions on the website where you get the drivers. To find out what hardware is in your computer: 1. Read any documentation you got when you bought the computer. 2. If the computer is OEM, go to the OEM's website for your specific model machine and look at the specs (you'll be there to get the drivers anyway) 3. Download, install and run a free system inventory program like Belarc Advisor or System Information for Windows. http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html - Belarc Advisor http://www.gtopala.com/ - System Information for Windows Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/#FAQ |

Reinstalling Multimedia audio controller
Need a little more information, what is the make and model number of you
computer, or if custom built what is the motherboards make. Look again at device Manager under Sound, video and game controllers, expand and look for a listing that just gives sound, if you can identify the sound device you can get an updated driver from the manufacturr's website. If you can't find this information download Belarc Advisor here http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html -- Rey "gerrib1950" wrote: I can't reinstall this.
