Windows Security Patch results in blue screen on bootup
The latest Windows security patch has started to cause me to receive the blue
screen on bootup at every bootup. This occurs after login but appears to be before all services are loaded up. Ran computer in safe mode and selected show updates from the "installed programs" list. Noticed there was a recently installed security patch. I uninstalled it and now my computer boots with no problems. Would like to be up to date on these security patches but am unable to do so with these blue screen crashes. |

I've got the same problem and it won't even let me do a system restore to fix things! |

We had two machines with the same symptom after last Tuesday's updates. Nothing for it but a re-install. But here's a question: Why? |

You uninstalled it - it gave a name and KB######... What patch was it. Whether this was a warning or a question - the specific patch is a *large* part of the equation. Nah - that's the type of important detail that might clarify the situation and help those who might be able to assist actually give specific directions/help. Better if everything was left all foggy and unclear - that way anyone can jump in and agree that they too had the same problem and why isn't Microsoft doing something about it? *eg* -- Shenan Stanley MS-MVP -- How To Ask Questions The Smart Way http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html |
