Default video card problems

I am sure it's just because I dont understand what Im doing But EVERY
time I boot up I get the error Glide2x.dll expected voodoo^2 none detected.
But everything seems to work fine. I have 2 video cards but one is only
listed... any ideas to point me to.

I assume one of the cards is a Voodoo2 Card? Is it linked by a short cable at the back to
the other card (externally) and you actually plug your video monitor into the Voodoo card?
If so, do a Goggle search for Voodoo2 drivers.

BUT, these Voodoo cards are kinda obsolete now, and if your other card is a modern one with
64 or 128 Mb RAM, then the Voodoo card is quite redundant and should/could be removed.

Yes there is a cable connecting the two. The other card is a Cirrus logic
visualmedia 4mb. I wish I could afford a new video card but this whole
computer is several years old. It's a 431Mzh. But it was pretty much free
and the old one was a Presario.

I ran this befor/after I started having problems, Did it cause the problems?

Welcome to the 3dfx Sweep utility. This utility will allow you to check

your system for duplicate Glide drivers. You can also choose to rename all
such drivers that are not found in valid locations. This will invalidate
all such duplicate drivers so that only the ones in your Windows and System
folders are used.

Well im off to try to reinstall drivers...

Can grab from here
http://www.3dgw.com/drivers/drivers.php3?driver=v2

I installed for my Grandson on my old 450 Mhz and it was fine, but you need to can the
Cirrus card. Are U sure it only has 4 Mb on board?

Even tho' Voodoo driver said it was for DX7, I upgraded the machine to DX9.0a and everything
running fine.

The scan and delete of the recommended glide drivers, assuming U didn't delete them all,
just the ones it recommended, shud be OK.

Yup...

The drivers for one of the video cards are not fully installed.... or are
somehow corrupted....

This procedure will "uninstall" it.

1) Click START, Control Panel, Performance and Maintenance, System
2) Select the Hardware tab, then click Device Manager
3) On the left pane, click the [+] next to Display Adapters. (Note: this
section may already be open, and there may be an error indicator with a
remark about the device not working properly, when you right-click, and
select Properties)
4) Click the video card that you ARE NOT running with, then right-click, and
select Properties. Choose Uninstall.
5) Accept, and OK your way out. Then reboot.

When the system comes up again, it should detect the card, and load the
drivers for it.

If not, use the Add New Hardware Wizard to install it (if you want). You
can find the Wizard via several means, but I would recommend finding it
through the Help and Support tool available when you click the START menu.
Key-in the phrase "new hardware" in the search box, then follow the link. I
highly recommend using Help and Support. It really is helpful, and
supportive, if you become familiarized with how to use it. It will give you
much more independence in your own troubleshooting needs.

Have, um, "fun"?

p.s. I am curious why you are using two cards.... which ever one is an AGP
card, is the one you should most likely use. It should be faster than the
other (a PCI card). It's also taking up a slot in your PC, that could be
used for something else.... not to mention, a potential source for errors,
and confusion.

Well I finally got it fixed but it was a big pain. For some reason when I
would reinstall the driver for the voodoo2 it would just somehow use the old
ones. So I wrote down all the file names in the voodoo zip files and deleted
all of them and flushed the bin! and Walla! you know there's nothing worse
than some error box and seem to warn about nothing!
