color change

The description you are giving of the monitor sounds as
though there may be a hardware problem with the monitor
itself. Just as a quick test, try changing the
resolution of the display and see if there is any
difference. You can right click on the desktop, select
properties, then change the number of colors to see if
there is any difference. If this doesn't have an effect,
try rebooting the machine and see if you notice the
purple tint in dos mode. If so, you may want to have
your monitor checked for problems.
