Updating Nvidia drivers
A new game keeps crashing and I found that I need to update my display
drivers. I have a Nvidia geforce4 mx integrated gpu v. 6.13. When I go to the nvidia website to download the update, some instructions say to uninstall the old drivers before installing the new ones. I need info on the best way to do this. I have created a set point in system restore in case something goes wrong, but have not downloaded anything yet. Why would I delete the old drivers if there is an option to roll back to the previous drivers if something goes wrong? Since I'm not that comfortable with this, I would appreciate step by step info on downloading, deleting and installing the updated drivers. I am running windows xp home version without sp2. I already updated to directx 9c. Thanks, Sharon |

Updating Nvidia drivers
Even though it recommends deleting the previous driver first , installing
the new driver with the old one in place has never given me a problem. JJ "Sharon Parrish" Sharon wrote in message ... A new game keeps crashing and I found that I need to update my display drivers. Updating Nvidia drivers
Yeah, I found the same. I got an update to my nVidia driver from the
Microsoft site, and when I installed it (without uninstalling the old one) it came up in my Add & Remove Programs list in Control Panel. I decided I didn't like certain aspects of it and I uninstalled it from there, and the old driver took over. I've since changed my mind and installed the new one again. No problems at any time. regards Tony. "JJ" wrote in message ...
