HELP!!! Java Applets and IE 6.0 on XP PRO

I have a client PC running XP Pro, SP1 and ALL other
patches, even the suggested patches. Problem is they
have an Intranet site that I cannot get to run the java
applets properly. I have call MS tech support, no avail,
I have went as far as to do a fresh install of XP, since
it was upgraded from Win98 and still cannot access the
java applets. I can access these applets from other XP
machines without a problem. Any help would be GREATLY
appreciated. I hate to tell them they have to purchase a
new computer over something like this but I have spent
enough time trying to figure this one out to buy 2 new
computers!!!
