Realtek High Definition Audio doesn't install properly
I had the same problem. Follow these steps: Go to Device Manager. Inside "System Drivers" that is a Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio. Right click it and DISABLE. Right click it again and UNINSTALL. Now you are able to start SETUP.exe and install realtek driver. This problems happens because windows added its own driver and it does not allow realtek driver to complete its installation. -- vchrung ------------------------------------------------------------------------ vchrung's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?u=52340 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=829548 http://forums.techarena.in |

This worked perfectly!
Had "no audio device", although the RealTek HD driver seemed to be working properly.
Received "RealTek Driver Install failed!!" msg.. Uninstalled the UAA driver, installed RealTek, and reinstalled UAA... works great! (All that was required to re-install UAA was right-click on "System Devices" and selecting "Scan for new devices". |

Hope this helps someone...
Windows would not let me simply uninstall the UAA driver, it complained that it is required for system boot. To get around it, I first disabled the UAA driver, then uninstalled it. After I installed the audio driver from the manufacturer's website, everything worked fine.
Thanks for your help! |

Realtek High Definition Audio doesn't install properly
Jeff;3210682 Wrote: I have a problem installing Realtek High Definition Audio drivers. When installing the most recent driver from Realtek website (WDM_R178.exe), the driver installation stops with an error message: Install Realtek HD Audio Driver Failure !! Also using WinXP Pro with all the latest patches. At some point, I decided to disabled the audio device within the BIOS and I was able to fully install the driver from Realtek, but if I go back and re-enable the onboard audio.. still the same issue, no sound and the device manager still show a problem with High Definition Audio driver. I also tried to uninstall the High Definition Audio driver from the device manager, but I'm getting an error saying that it's not possible to remove it because it is required for booting the OS. I saw a couple of threads on similar issue, but can't find a clear solution for that. Please help me with this issue. Thanks. Realtek High Definition Audio doesn't install properly
The latest version of the Realtek HD Audio driver is 2.01, so 1.78 is pretty
dated. You can download the latest version here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...&GetDown=false If the direct link breaks, you can get it from http://www.realtek.com.tw -- Jason Tsang - Microsoft MVP Read my blog for the latest in Media Center topics (and other topics that interest me) http://jtsang.blogspot.com More information by me http://jtsang.mvps.org http://www.classicsunveiled.com Find out about the MS MVP Program - http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/default.aspx "sudebr" wrote in message ... Realtek High Definition Audio doesn't install properly
you probably need to install the MS UAA driver; search for it, install it,
then install the realtek again. |

I believe the RealTek package has its own copy of 888111, so as soon as you remove UAA, the ReakTek package should put it back. http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=146855 Paul |
