-----Original Message----- I have a number of programs that start when I start windows. I wish to remove them. (Task bars, calendar watchers etc.). I have tried going through msconfig-start as mentioned in other posts but I get a message when I reboot that I am in diagnostic mode or something. Removing programs that start with windows.
Dzny5,
First try to disable the "Startup" function from within the program, if there is no option for disabling the program(s) from starting up, then visit the following site for a list of locations where programs startup and disable them from there; http://aumha.org/win4/a/loads.htm Many people recommend using MSConfig, but it was not really intended as a tool for this purpose, the real purpose of MSConfig is to troubleshoot problems and temporarily disable programs from there, that's why you see the screen message about running in diagnostic mode. -- Sir_George wrote in message ... -----Original Message----- I have a number of programs that start when I start windows.
