my computer reboots when i try to watch videos or do anything with graphics

ok...for starters...i don't know all that much about computers...but i
know enough to get around...i have an hp pavillion a705w and i'm running
windows xp, everything seems to work however, when i try to watch
videos or do anything that has to deal with graphics it just
reboots...it never blue screens, only reboots. I have nearly stripped my
computer thinking it could have been a program i had on it. Nothing has
worked. I also scan for viruses, spyware, and i even have a registry
cleaner...all are used regularly. Now sometimes it does let me watch
videos and use graphics, but are you ready for this......ONLY AT NIGHT!
what's up with that...i can turn my computer on during the day for just
20 minutes and my night is shot. at night is the only time i can get on
for longer being that i am a single mother of two. it reboots worse
during the day and if i've had it on at all during the day it reboots
just as bad at night...im at a loss i have not the first clue...can
anyone help me....and forwarning...i dont understand too much tech
talk....i know it makes me sound like an idiot...but i'm a hands on
learner...i can't help it...so lamens terms would help...thank you so
much..
