Default Network Map and unassigned devices

I have a small ethernet in house. House is almost totally wired and
usually most devices connect via a cable. If/when need-be there's a
switch connected at an "endpoint" for multipule devices.

Problem I was having was having my router positoned in house so house
was entirely covered, e.g. there was always a poor spot somewhere in the
house. To eliminate this problem I used an unused router instead of a
switch in a "good" location in house. The router's been dummied down so
it acts just like a switch except I kept the wireless enabled, giving it
a different id to connect to. This all works as expected and devices can
usually choose which router to use for a wireless connection. Workgroup
and shares along with accessing Internet all work fine.

The problem is that network Map doesn't seem to be able to map anything
using the "extension router's" wireless yet they do when connected to
the main router. Anything using a cable on the extension router gets
mapped fine.

I'm assuming this is some sort of stupidity on Network Maps part?

Any ideas on how to have these wireless devices properly mapped?

P.S. It also will not map my IP camera regardless of how it's connected
but that's not really expected.

There's no reason that network mapping shouldn't work. But you haven't
described your setup enough (IMO).

eg...
Main router: 192.168.1.1, DHCP enabled handing out IP's to say .255
your remote router (cabled though to main), should be on a reserved IP
(if that's supported under DHCP on the main router), or at least a high
IP that will never be in use (and therefore contention), say
192.168.1.200. And in 'dumb' mode (DHCP *not enabled is the key). But
WiFi enabled.

That should work!

That's how it's setup. Main router is 192.168.1.1 & dummied down router
is at 192.168.1.60. Main router assigns IP's from 10-50 as I use 2 for
an IP camera and the 3-9 are reserved for what may come down the pipe
DHCP is turned off on the dummy router. There's total maybe 12 devices
in house can be turned on and connected at same time.

As I said, it all works. Windows correctly shows both routers and all
pcs on the map EXCEPT for anything using the wireless on the dummy
router.

It also doesn't know where to put my IP camera but I think that's not
pertinenent to this issue.

None of it's a problem as much a curiosity.
