Default Taskbar is missing

On 'My Computer' and 'Control Panel' the Taskbar went missing. Other folders
show it. Any idea what happened? Thanks in advance for your advice!

I am not sure what you are talking about. The taskbar is at the bottom of
your desktop. Describe what you are calling the taskbar please.

Are you referring to the Toolbar atop the page? If so, press F11 for a
better view.

If you mean the Common Tasks bar (pane) to the left of those windows,
here's a a script by Kelly which will enable or disable it:

http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/xp_tweaks.htm
Line 78. Common Tasks View - Disable or Enable

Instructions are at the top of the page. You can "edit" the .reg file
to view before using it, if you want.

Or, click Start, Run, and type:

regsvr32 /i shell32.dll

Click OK
