Default Windows does not show applications that can be seen in the Task manager

Hi,

The following is the problem I am facing: When I login into my machine, I
don’t see any applications/tasks running. However, when I check my
taskmanager I can see that the machine has instances of Excel , Internet
Explorer and Outlook running.

Note that this is not a virus problem. I have a scheduled task that opens
these applications every morning before I log into my machine. The scheduled
tasks works fine, but the application it starts are invisible to me when I
log in.

What can I do to make windows explorer show those tasks?

Thanks,

MG.

That's because you started them BEFORE you logged it. Change it to WHEN
you log in, instead of when my computer starts.

or simply put them into the Autostart folder

Thanks folks.

Note that I run the scheduled task under my username, that is why I was
expecting those applications to show up when I log in using my username.

Auto start - I know that I can use auto start to start these programs, but it
takes a while for the excel file as well as the webpage to load and update.
That is why I wanted to have them updated and ready when I log in.

So would you just like these things to anticipate your login and be
ready and waiting for you?

Have you considered using Hibernation?

I was about to suggest that but I wanted to get an answer to my
facetious question first!

I was thinking that since the task was performed under my username, it should
be visible to me when I log in. If some other user logs into the machine he
should not be able to see the application.
