Windows does not show applications that can be seen in the Task manager
Hi,
The following is the problem I am facing: When I login into my machine, I don’t see any applications/tasks running. However, when I check my taskmanager I can see that the machine has instances of Excel , Internet Explorer and Outlook running. Note that this is not a virus problem. I have a scheduled task that opens these applications every morning before I log into my machine. The scheduled tasks works fine, but the application it starts are invisible to me when I log in. What can I do to make windows explorer show those tasks? Thanks, MG. System: Windows XP, 2002 Professional, Service Pack 3 -- Message posted via http://www.windowskb.com |

That's because you started them BEFORE you logged it. Change it to WHEN
you log in, instead of when my computer starts. musicgold via WindowsKB.com wrote: Hi, The following is the problem I am facing: When I login into my machine, I don’t see any applications/tasks running. -------- Original-Nachricht -------- That's because you started them BEFORE you logged it. Change it to WHEN you log in, instead of when my computer starts. or simply put them into the Autostart folder Bernd |

Windows does not show applications that can be seen in the Task manager
Thanks folks.
Note that I run the scheduled task under my username, that is why I was expecting those applications to show up when I log in using my username. Auto start - I know that I can use auto start to start these programs, but it takes a while for the excel file as well as the webpage to load and update. That is why I wanted to have them updated and ready when I log in. -- Message posted via http://www.windowskb.com |

I was thinking that since the task was performed under my username, it should be visible to me when I log in. If some other user logs into the machine he should not be able to see the application. -- Message posted via WindowsKB.com http://www.windowskb.com/Uwe/Forums....owsxp/200911/1 |
