Have now loaded java plugin but scripts still don't

Sounds to me like you probably need the entire Java Virtual Machine (the whole thing, not a plugin). Both Microsofts Version plus Sun's Version are available he For the Microsoft versions: http://java-virtual-machine.net/download.html For the Sun version: http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html Take one or the other and see if your problem is resolved.
