Hey dip**** troll, I, unlike you, read the article and found some things
I didn't know about Windows 10. How long have you been an asshole asshole?

They forgot the ten reasons not to upgrade to Windows 10.

Micro$oft needs to promise with their blood if not their life that Win
10 updates would NEVER touch users' data again, ever!

Did you know that back up is a computer user's best friend?

Backup is no protection against *silent* data loss/corruption.

But heh, if System Restore can silently clobber user's data [1], then
why can't Windows 10 updates!? :-(

Not if you back up a bug.

Ie, you use the backup copy before that bug ;-)

You have your choices.

Backups (a crapshoot).

or

Nothing (a guaranteed crapshoot).

*******

Did you know, that backups can even tell you that you
have bad hardware ?

I ran a verify on a Macrium MRIMG and it failed. I checked
a number of them, and noticed a pattern to the failures.

It turned out bad RAM in the computer I'm typing on, caused
the MRIMG files to be damaged. And the damage was
detectable by running "Verify".

Even when you're not using the backup, it can have "benefits".

Not exactly related to user backup strategies.

All Win 10/Server update and upgrade processes should NOT have touched
user folders, not even scanning them. They are always off-limits.

"Should not" doesn't mean that software will not ever do. There are errors.

Not acceptable for companies like Micro$oft...and Apple, and Google!!
Their operating systems are being used by the WORLD!

And should I cite business ethics and social responsibilities?

Sure. Sue them.

But your data is lost. Even if you win in court, your data is lost.

I remember, decades ago, reading the legalese of software I bought. I
was young then, eager to read and find out. Basically, they said they
did not accept any responsibility for lost data or failure to perform or
to do the job we needed done.

The same is true for police departments worldwide?

I don't understand what relation has police departments to software
companies usual policy of not taking responsibility for your lost data.
