Default Graphics Failure (Random Colors)

Recently my computer suddenly displayed random colors covering the whole
screen leaving me no choice but to shut it down. I was using an Nvidia
Geforce Xpert Vision 6600GT 128mb/ddr graphics card on my XP System. I tried
using an older 5700FX but this card would cause the computer to freeze/crash.
Im currently using onboard graphics (Foxconn 661FX4MR) and it works.
I can only assume that my 6600GT is fried. I also think that the Motherboard
may be corrupted but i have no real idea what it is. Anyone know what it
could be?
