Default Lost Contacts and Mail in WIndows Live Mail

Dear Group

I have been using Windows Live Mail on a Windows 8 machine and two days ago
all was well. Then I did a series of Updates through Windows Update.

All my contacts are gone and the .edb file is empty. Import for current user
does not import anything. I have read a number of articles from a google
search of Windows Live Mail Contacts Missing but have not been able to
resolve the issue.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Might get more focused help from the WLM community over at:

First...nothing Windows Live or Windows Essentials is deployed via
Windows Updates nor does anything else in Windows 8 use or access the
same contact databases as WLM.

The Windows Live Mail group would be the appropriate place to ask for
support, though it would be prudent if doing so to include the following
information about your system in that same request.

- Using a Microsoft or Local account in Windows 8
- Version of Windows Live Mail
- Signing on with a Microsoft account to Microsoft Services in WLM
- Not Signing on with Microsoct account to Microsoft Services in WLM

The latter two are important...since each mode (Sign On or No Sign On)
has its own unique Contact database....and only one can be active at any
point in time.
