Default software installation problem

When my computer was built the builder assigned my hard
drive to F instead of C. This is usually not a problem but
I am trying to install a program that defaults to the C
drive. Of course I get an error message. The installer does
not ask me for an installation location so I am Stuck.
I opened the Group policy dialog and tried to change the
default drive but I have no sub levels under software in
either the computer or user trees.
If anybody has any ideas I would appreciate it.
