how to remove custom keyboard shortcuts
Hi,
I love using keyboard shortcuts I assign for icons. However, if you assign a keyboard shortcut to an icon, then delete the icon without first clearing the access key from it's properties, you will no longer be able to use that access key with any other application. The setting remains in the registry I suppose and continues to try to launch the shortcut's target even after the icon has been erased. I want to know where this information is stored so I can clear the unused shortcuts and free them up for use on new icons. Thanks for the help. |

First remove the hotkey from the Properties of the shortcut, then delete the shortcut. This will avoid the problem. This will also work after you restored shortcuts from the Recycle Bin for that purpose. Else you have to wait some time. Windows will forget the setting after some boots. -- (tm) |

how to remove custom keyboard shortcuts
Good - I'm glad I'm not the online one and that it is
indeed a bug or bad feature or something of windows. "Windows will forget the setting after some boots." - I hope you are right. Time to start shutting down my PC instead of putting it in standby... -----Original Message----- "Pseudo" wrote: I love using keyboard shortcuts I assign for icons.
