Default SP2 Windows Explorer Slow To Open

Rick,
I have tried but this solution is not helping me. In msconfig the WIA
service is sopped. And then I still see the same problem. For me it takes
close to 15 min,. before I get the windows explorer,. Any other suggestions,.
MY IE also takes a long time to load.

Hi,

Click start/run, type MSCONFIG and click ok. Go to the services tab and
uncheck the line that loads WIA (Windows Image Acquisition). Click apply/ok
and reboot - does this help?

After installing SP2 When I click on Windows Explorer I get a minimum 1
minute delay (waving Flashlight) before it displays the contents of my
computer (drives,etc....) This also happens with outlook express. Any
ideas? Defrag didn't help.

Default SP2 Windows Explorer Slow To Open

Guys,
Thanks for all the updates. I found all the reasons were due to the fact
that my computer was infested with spyware, trojan horses etc. Installing the
new Microsoft Beta anti-Spyware helped. Previously I had tried cleaning up
with SpyBot and Ad-Aware, but they did not work.

Thanks
