msn messenger with a mind of its own
I am using msn messenger 7.5 which has been working fine for months but
recently has started behaving in a strange way. It shuts itself off from time to time for no apparent reason. The connection to the internet remains but messenger decides to take a rest. Is there anything in the settings which might be causing this and which I can adjust? -- Message posted via WindowsKB.com http://www.windowskb.com/Uwe/Forums....enger/200604/1 |

msn messenger with a mind of its own
Greetings,
I assume the entire application is "disappearing"? If so, what's really happening is that it's crashing. Isolating the exact reason why could be extraordinarily difficult though -- if you don't mind losing your display pictures/emoticons, you could try rebuilding your client cache. To do so, firstly shut down Messenger if it's running by right-clicking its icon in the notification area and clicking Exit. Then, click Start, then Run, enter: %appdata%\Microsoft and click OK. Then right-click the MSN Messenger and choose Delete. -- Jonathan Kay Microsoft MVP - Windows Messenger/MSN Messenger/Windows Live Messenger Associate Expert http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/expertzone/ Messenger Resources - http://messenger.jonathankay.com All posts unless otherwise specified are (c) 2006 Jonathan Kay.
