Default DVD burning

I've been burning some avi files to DVD using Nerovision Express. The problem
is it took over 4 hours to burn a file last night to DVD.

As I'm new to this, all I want to know is...is this normal, and if not, how
can I speed the process up?

Thanks in advance

Agreed
4 hours may seem like a long time but a slower burn speed tends to make for
a more error free DVD so it isn't unreasonable.
