Default No Video Working

I am running XP Pro on an AMD San Diego ... everthing working fine for aboug
8 months and then yesterday -- no video! That means no DVD, no media player
and it seems no streaming video. I have tried Win Media Player, Power DVD and
Nero Showtime.

No recent hardware changes and no big software changes either ... anyone
have any ideas ... because I do not.

Regards
Dave

Graham -- thanks for the reply ... to tell the truth, in the last few weeks I
have installed any new software. Two days ago, the video stopped working ...
I can think of nothing that I did.

Regards
Dave

Well I'd start with a system restore to a point before it stopped working.

You haven't had a powercut or someone turn off the pc without shutting down?
