Default Burning blank dvds

I'm trying to burn a film clip off my computer to a dvd, but everytime I burn
it I can't watch in on tv. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The type is
ava, what does that mean? I have a DVD-RW Drive and the blank dvds are DVD-R.

I think you're creating a data DVD instead of creating a Video DVD. Which
DVD burning software are you using?

I have Sonic, Windows Media Player, and Musicmatch. Last time I used Windows
Media Player to burn a dvd.

Windows Media Player won't burn to a DVD. It will burn a CD, but not a DVD.

Use Sonic and tell it you want to create a Video DVD.... import the clip...
and then tell it to burn the disk.. it will take time as it has to re-encode
the file to the correct format.
