Default DVD/CD Burner

my new Dell Dimension 9150 seems to only burn cd's at 4x instead of max
speed, can anybody help

I noticed on my PC (an older Dell model) that my AV software (Norton,
Windows Defender and Counter Spy) all were contributing to a slowdown of my
burn speed. What I did was to disconnect from the Internet (turned off the
cable modem) and then disabled the AV software prior to burning a CD or DVD,
that seamed to solve my problem.

And make sure your not using 4X blanks.

Make sure DMA is enabled
