Default CD/DVDROM Blue Screen

When I insert a CD or DVD in one of the drives I get to go to the BSOD. I
have checked drives out on another system - OK, replaced cables - OK,
installed new video drivers - OK. All other programs and functions seem to be
normal. Suggestion?

The error msg after return to WinXP is:
BCCode: 1000007f BCP1: 00000008 BCP2: 80042000 BCP3: 00000000 BCP4: 00000000
OSVer: 5_1_2600 SP: 2_0 Product 256_1
(not sure about the last entry - couldn't read handwriting)

I saved the dump from the recovery from serious error if needed.

Help would be appreciated.

WELL - Who would have thought. The solution was found, or inclination to the
same, while searching MS. There was a mention that Roxio could make WinXP
unstable - RIGHT! I uninstalled and the problem ceases to exist. I installed
another burner software and all is well. I have used Roxio products for
years. Not sure why now, but not worth the risk in the future.
