Default Two seperate "Collections" to choose from

I wish to have multiple (2 or more) collections of clips (from different
tapes) available to me in order to incorporate scenes from each into my
finished movie. How do I get both "collections" into one area so I can
select scenes from each "movie", and mix them into one storyline? When I try
to move from collection 1 to collection 2, #1 vanishes. Then, when I look at
the audio track, both video tracks disappear. Is it possible to see the
clips together to choose between them and drag selections from each
collection into the finished film? How? (Are the instructions for this
available somewhere, and I've just overlooked them?)

I guess you are using Movie Maker?

You can copy/paste or drag/drop files
from one collection to another.
