Default black not printing

Like 'janremington' 10/04/07, only my problem is with the black cartridge of
a Canon S600. Never had any problems before! Onlydifference this time is
that I used a Jessops 'canon compatible' cartridge when the Canon cartridge
ran out...and hey presto!, the printer now no longer recognises that it even
has black ink installed...though it DOES recognise Jessops colour cartridges
(as cheaper alternatives to Canon's). I have even put a Canon black
cartridge in the printer and done lots of checks but to no avail. All
getting rather depressing as I dearly want to print out some of the photos
I've been taking with me new digi camera....maybe THAT'S the culprit!!
HELP...PLEASE!!! Getting fed-up of phoning Helpdesks and the like and not
getting anywhere! Been going on for weeks!
Grace

Default black not printing

Did you run a cleaning and maintenance cycle?
