Default Modifying Windows GINA

My users have an entrust epf file for VPN connectivity. I want to know if
there is any way, I can modify the Windows GINA to use the entrust EPF file
as credentials instead of local accounts/ pwds (on non-enterprise connected
pcs) and if so, how can I do this? I am not sure whether I need special
software or whether its a configuration change and adding the entrust epf
file to the local certificate store. Can anyone advise if what I want to do
is possible?
