Fax doesn't notice an incoming fax
I've set up MS Fax on other machines before (and I believe this one too,
once upon a time) to send/receive faxes without any problems. In this case, the option to auto-receive faxes seems properly enabled, and the monitor for example says "ready to receive or send faxes", but the modem doesn't notice that there's an incoming call. It seems to be able to send ok (I haven't actually tested it sending to a fax machine, but it made the right noises when I picked up the call on my mobile), and if I click on the 'receive' button while ringing that phone number, it picks it up and makes fax noises without any problem, it's just that it doesn't notice at all (whether manual pickup or auto fax receive is enabled). I tried reinstalling MS Fax and the modem, as well as config tweaks and monitoring the modem through its log file, no luck. Any thoughts? |

Fax doesn't notice an incoming fax
XP Fax is very intolerant of modems that aren't on the Hardware
Compatibility list. Has this computer ever worked OK with Fax and this particular modem? http://winqual.microsoft.com/HCL/Pro...&cid=707&f=64d Windows XP Hardware Compatibility List Hal -- Hal Hostetler, CPBE -- Senior Engineer/MIS -- MS MVP-Print/Imaging -- WA7BGX http://www.kvoa.com -- "When News breaks, we fix it!" Is your modem on the list?

Is your modem on the list? I'm not sure, I would have to check next time I'm on-site. |
