Default Recover deleted file utility

Do any of you know of any good reputable programs that recover files deleted
and then removed from the recycle bin. I prefer a program that boots from a
CD so as not to overwrite any files on the HDD of the computer we are
checking. I understand that Microsoft does not supply any utility like this

We are running Windows XP SP2

Thanks.

Here are some links to various programs. I use Easy Recovery Pro, but it is
expensive. People whom I respect have recommended R-Studio and Restoration.
YMMV.

You can try the recovery tools from the Backtrack Live CD. You have to mount
the drive after booting off the live CD.

Microsoft does actually provide a tool for restoring deleted files. It is
included within ERD Commander, found in the Microsoft Diagnostics and
Recovery Toolset. It is however a 30-day trial, but I'm sure it provides
what you need.

I know software named Stellar Phoenix Windows Data Recovery Software. Used once it is one of the best data recovery software. You just try demo version from here : http://www.stellarinfo.com/partition-recovery.htm it will scan your data and will show you how much of your data is recoverable if you feel satisfied then go for full version to save your data.
