installing xp home
BassBlonde,
1. XP Home cannot natively join a domain, so it might not be useful for a college student, or someone working from home, that needs to connect to business/college servers. 2. There is a slight change on what files can be shared over the network by the XP Home machine, from othe PCs on the network. Other than that it, your XP Home PC should update and run as well as it did with XP Pro. -- Add MS to your News Reader: news://msnews.microsoft.com Rich/rerat (RRR News) message rule Previous Text Snipped to Save Bandwidth When Appropriate "BassBlonde" wrote in message ... What is the make and model of this "older machine"? Does it have a license to run XP Pro (that is, does it have a Windows COA sticker with Product Key on it?)? |

But for the first you must format the older machine after that you can install xp home. But I prefer using XP pro to using XP home. Because the version from XP pro more sophisticate. -- kenairdi |
