AFAIK if you have a mixed OS network (Macs and Windows) you need to use SMB instead of AFP. Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/#FAQ |

As I said before, you don't want to use AFP in a mixed network. Windows uses SMB. You can easily change this from System PreferencesSharingOptions button. http://www.macwindows.com/ Malke -- MS-MVP Elephant Boy Computers - Don't Panic! http://www.elephantboycomputers.com/#FAQ |

Setting Up an AFP Share from windows XP
He wants to use AFP because if you ever need to (gasp!) reinstall OSX from a
Time Machine backup he will not have access to an SMB share as SMB connectivity is not included on the OSX install disc. There is a product called ExtremeZ-IP that runs all your SMB shares as AFP shares, but it is very expensive. "Malke" wrote: Lepre-Chaun wrote: Thanks, It isn't time capsule just a shared disk.
