Not enough server storage...
Have to XP Pro machines (named "Mary" and "Joe" for this discussion). C drive
is enabled for sharing on both. Both have same two users with admin priv. "Joe" can access C at "Mary" via \\Mary\c and all folders and files are accessible. Trying to access C at "Joe" from "Mary" via \\Joe\c results in "\\Joe\c is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Not enough server storage is available to process this command." Have increase IRPStacksize at "Joe"to 12 (max?), and disabled firewall, still no access. What else should I try? cenderlein |

Thanks much, increasing the stack to 20 dec took care of it. I still have
some "access denied" issues but will try to figure it out myself first. Thanks agai, great help! cenderlein "Lem" wrote: cenderlein wrote: Have to XP Pro machines (named "Mary" and "Joe" for this discussion). C drive is enabled for sharing on both. Hi
If you do not have any more Error message then it is just a matter of configuring correctly the File Sharing. Make sure that the Software Firewall on each computer allows free local traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native Firewall should be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your Network IP numbers on what is some time called the Trusted Zone (consult your 3rd Party Firewall instructions. General example, http://www.ezlan.net/faq#trusted Vista File and Printer Sharing- http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/l.../bb727037.aspx Windows XP File Sharing - http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;304040 http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;304040 Printer Sharing XP - http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...utt_july2.mspx Windows Native Firewall setting for Sharing XP - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/875357 Windows XP patch for Sharing with Vista (Not need for XP-SP3) - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/922120 Sharing between Windows XP and Mac - http://www.realifewebdesigns.com/web...file-share.asp Jack (MVP-Networking). Not enough server storage...
OK, after solving my original problem by increasing the IRPStackSize to 20
dec., I still have an "access denied" issue. I went back to the drawing board and here is my current setup: 2 XP Pro machines "A" and "B". "A" is internet gateway, IP address 192.168.0.1, "B" addess 192.168.0.(X). Setting for both machines: simple file sharing "on", all file folders UNshared, C drives shared with permission to change files. Users: John Doe on "A", Jane Doe on "B". Scenario: John Doe has access to all folders on "B" including the "Jane Doe" folder under the D&S folder of "B", and all of its subfolders. Jane Doe has acces to all folders on"A", including the "Default User" and "All Users" folders under the D&S folder of "A", but ACCESS to "John Doe" and its sub-folder IS DENIED. To make it accessible to Jane Doe I have to specifically "share" the "John Doe" folder on "A". Why, with identical set-ups on both machines, does acces to the other machine user's personal folder only work in one direction and not the other? Any suggestions? Thanks for your help. cenderlein "Lem" wrote: cenderlein wrote: Have to XP Pro machines (named "Mary" and "Joe" for this discussion). C drive is enabled for sharing on both.
