Print Spooler always PAUSED
I have a home network of 3 PCs using WinXPpro SP3, and connected to a network
printer (HP 2605 laser). This has worked perfectly for years. But suddenly one of the PCs will not print to the printer -- the jobs appear in the PC's printer queue, but it says the printer is PAUSED. I have tried all the obvious things (etg click Resume; rebooted PC, rebooted printer). The other two PC's still print OK. This PC prints OK to a different printer. Network file access still works OK. I do think any new software or update has been installed recently. Any suggestions please, as to why WinXP thinks this printer is paused?? |

I have now posted this question to the Windows Xp Printing and Fax group as
that seems more appropriate. |

No I did not try that. Do you think it would make a difference?
The Print Spooler currently is there, with documents (but shwoing printer as "Paused". And if I print to a different printer, this works OK. It might bring up some error message we can diagnose more fully!

OK I have tried restarting the spooler. No error message. But no change to
the problem -- I can print to another printer but this network laser printer is still always PAUSED (but works OK from other PCs). If no other suggestions my next step will be to reinstall the printer driver on this PC.
