Default parallel ports not working

After upgrading to XP, I cannot get anything connected to
the parallel ports to work. My printer works when
connected with USB but when connected with a parallel
port it is not found. Zip drive is also not found when
connected via parallel port.

Thanks

Some HP printers only work in XP via USB. Dont know about Zip drive but
check the BIOS to see if parallel port is enabled

Depends on the make of BIOS. Usually you press say F2 on boot up. The info
should be in your computer manual. Be careful not to change settings in the
BIOS unless you note the setting you are changing, otherwise you may end up
with a machine which will not boot up at all
